Malatya Turgut Özal University organized a polyphonic choir concert on March 8, International Women's Day. Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Erdem, Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci, academic and administrative staff and students attended the program. Before the event, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Painting faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Döndü Tülay Özkul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Döndü Tülay Özkul, Dr. Lecturer Selcan Kalın and Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Erdem, Dean Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Karaönçel and faculty members opened the painting exhibition consisting of women-themed works prepared by the students of the Department of Painting under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Arif Esen Baykurt. The event was attended by the Director of the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center Dr. Lecturer Kübra Batar. Prof. Dr. Kübra Batar's opening speech. Touching on the importance of March 8 in her speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Batar emphasized the equality of women and men; “Women are the representatives of a unifying power in business life, at home and in society. Celebrating the International Women's Day of all women on March 8, Batar said, “Women are the symbol of compassion, love, tolerance and self-sacrifice.” Following the opening speech, a polyphonic choir concert was performed by Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Music. In the concert, which was conducted by Prof. Dr. Elif Sanem Güleç as the choir conductor and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Karaönçel as the artistic director, works such as the National Anthem, “Mustafa'm”, “I Loved a Young Woman”, “Çimende Sürü Gazlar”, “Elinde Oya Gidiyor Toya” were performed. The March 8 International Women's Day event ended with a group photo session after the concert.
