Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Performing Arts staged the theater play “I am Ulrike Ulrike!” within the scope of March 8 International Women's Day events. The event, organized with the contributions of Battalgazi Municipality, was held on March 5, 2025 at 16.00 at Battalgazi Municipality Conference Hall. Malatya Turgut Özal University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Erdem, Dean of the Faculty of Art Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci, faculty members, students and art lovers attended the program. The play, written by Franca Rame and Dario Fo and translated into Turkish by Füsun Demirel, drew attention to women's rights and social justice issues. The play was directed by STMF Performing Arts Department lecturer Assist. Assist. Sündüz Adilak, and the lead role was played by Sıla Çiçek, a student of the Department of Performing Arts. Mehmet Akif Güzel worked as the assistant director. The play, in which a one-man performance was staged, was staged free of charge. March 8 International Women's Day events will continue with theater performances. On March 6 and 7, two more women-themed plays will be staged on the same stage.
