The 180th anniversary of the Turkish Police Organization was celebrated with a special program organized in cooperation with Malatya Turgut Özal University and Malatya Provincial Police Directorate. The event was organized with the contributions of the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Provincial Directorate of National Education, Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate and Information and Prevention Activities (IPA) units as well as Malatya Provincial Police Directorate. On Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 19:00 at the Malatya Congress and Culture Center, Yeşilyurt District Governor Kutsal Baytak, Malatya Provincial Police Chief Arif Çankal, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Tolunay Başer, Provincial Director of National Education Behçet Bakır, Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mehmet Çolak, Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Erdem, MTU Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci and many protocol members attended the celebration program. Before the event, members of the protocol attended the ceremony where Dr. Lecturer Arif Esen Baykurt, a faculty member of the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of ICCU. Prof. Dr. Arif Esen Baykurt's pencil drawing exhibition consisting of portraits of martyred police officers.Then, a police-themed digital photography exhibition prepared by the students of the Department of Visual Communication Design was presented to the appreciation of the participants. The celebration program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem. The program continued with the poem written by Zeynal Selağzı, a veteran of the terrorist attack on the Elazığ Police Headquarters in 2016. In the hall where emotional moments were experienced, the audience once again deeply felt the loyalty to martyrs and veterans. The drama performance staged by the students of Niyazi Mısri Social Sciences High School was highly appreciated by the audience. In the event, the choir and solo artists formed within the Turkish Folk Music Ensemble of Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Music Department gave the audience moments full of emotion with heroism and homeland-themed works. The artistic director of the concert was Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Karaönçel, while the orchestra was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Harun Barış conducted the orchestra.Students Ayten Edanur Koç, Melike Özkan, Gizem Çarşıbaşı, Selcan Yavuz, Kadir Karakuş, İpek Tan, Birol İmrek, Miray Yağlıcı and Ebubekir Demir received full marks from the audience with their solo performances. This meaningful event, led by the Malatya Police Department and Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, with the relevant units of the Provincial Directorate of National Education, was a tribute to the honorable 180-year history of the Turkish Police Organization through art. The 180th anniversary of the Turkish Police Organization was celebrated with a concert, exhibition and theater show organized in cooperation with Malatya Turgut Özal University and Malatya Provincial Police Directorate. MTU Turkish Folk Music Ensemble gave the audience emotional moments with choral and solo performances.
