Organized under the coordination of the Presidential Human Resources Office and aiming to bring young people together with sectoral opportunities with the slogan “Talent is Everywhere”, İpekyolu Career Fair 2025 witnessed a meaningful meeting with the participation of our Faculty. On the first day of the fair, Apricot Pop Band, consisting of the students of our Faculty of Music Department, gave the audience an afternoon full of music with their stage performance. In the concert, which was art directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Karaönçel, soloist Akif Yılmaz and vocalists Nazlı Cengiz, Duygu Otlu, Birol İmrek, Cihan Mamuk, İlkan Çiftçi took the stage. The musical performance created a colorful and enthusiastic atmosphere with the contribution of Yusuf Eliş on electric guitar, Ramazan Kaya on keyboards, Emre Görkem Berkay on bass guitar, Serkan Bayram on oud and Emre Arslan on drums. In the career talks held on the second day of the fair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Arğın, Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vefalı Enser, Head of the Department of Radio and Television shared their knowledge and experiences about their fields with the students, while the students of the Department of Performing Arts gave the audience pleasant and interactive moments with their “Improvisational Theater” performances.
“Job Opportunities in Radio, Television and Cinema are Wide”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vefalı Enser informed the participants about the wide range of careers in the media sector. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Enser drew attention to the importance of both theoretical and practical knowledge in this field, which ranges from directing to reporter, from news anchor to radio programmer. Addressing the students, he said, “Such events are very valuable for clarifying the questions in students' minds and shaping their professional orientations.”
“It is important to progress in the field we are interested in and love”
In the “Career in Visual Communication and Design” session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Arğın talked about the impact of technological transformation on professions and shared his views on the place of artificial intelligence in the field of design. Arğın said, “Artificial intelligence will not take away our jobs; on the contrary, it will speed up the process and give us time to produce creative content” and encouraged students to discover their favorite field and specialize in this direction.
Creative Improvisational Theater by Performing Arts Students
Department of Performing Arts faculty member Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Atakan Aslan, a faculty member of the Department of Performing Arts, the improvisational performance held outdoors attracted great interest from the audience. Participants had fun and learned in this event where creative thinking and stage practice met. Students Ferda Çelik, Diyar Kaplan, Serkan Özdemir, Ebru Polat, Ömer Kaya Solmazgül and Uğur Erdem, who performed at the event, successfully reflected their theoretical knowledge to the stage and presented an impressive performance to the audience.
