The Visual Communication Society, consisting of students from the Visual Communication Design Department of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture (STMF) at Malatya Turgut Özal University (MTÜ), has collaborated with the Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) to launch a meaningful project. The exhibition was attended by Dr. Yasemin Keskin Yılmaz, academic staff member of the STMF Visual Communication Design Department; Dr. Selcan Kalın, academic staff member of the Painting Department; Esma Fırat, Manager of the Malet-2 Shell Learning Unit; club members; students; and volunteers.

The exhibition, titled “From Image to Future,” was held on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Malet-2 TEGV Shell Learning Unit as part of the 3rd Term UNIDES Project. Community members conducted workshops for children in various visual arts fields over the course of four weeks as part of the project. The project was planned for middle school students living in the container city and registered with TEGV. Over the course of four weeks, children were given practical training in art fields such as painting, sand painting, stained glass, watercolor, charcoal, and digital photography, as well as in Adobe Illustrator and MS Office programs, with the aim of developing their creativity. The exhibition featured works from various art disciplines such as digital photography, sand painting, stained glass, canvas, watercolor, ebru, and charcoal, as well as digital designs created by the children using what they learned in the Adobe Illustrator program.

The project highlighted the contribution of art education to post-disaster child development and stood out as a successful example of collaboration between a university and a non-governmental organization. It also strengthened students' sense of social responsibility by providing them with hands-on experience in the field.
