İrem Sür, a student in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture (STMF) at Malatya Turgut Özal University (MTÜ), has been selected to participate in the Akbank 43rd Contemporary Artists Award Exhibition, which is organized to support young representatives of contemporary art.

Organized in collaboration with the Association of Painting and Sculpture Museums and Akbank Art, this year's 43rd exhibition featured works by 27 young artists selected by the jury. İrem Sür's inclusion in this selection was noted as an important achievement for both the faculty and the university. Ceren Erdem curated this year's exhibition. Presented under the title “The world is not round, it is a network,” the exhibition questions the concepts of friendship, comradeship, and solidarity not only in terms of human relationships but also in the context of relationships established with ecosystems, technological structures, and the material world.

İrem Sür, who attracted attention with her work titled “Earth Blanket” in the exhibition, said the following about her work: "Inspired by James Bridle's book ‘Forms of Being,’ I wanted to emphasize the communication and synchronization that has existed between all elements of nature since their inception. The culture of shared life that Bridle points to suggests that other worlds are possible through a network of interconnected beings. In this context, ‘Earth Blanket’ stands out as a proposal that explores alternative paths for shared life by developing a new way of seeing within humanity's dystopian narrative."
