The Short Film ‘Ash’ Wins Awards at Both National and International Festivals

Mehmet Ateş, a student at the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture at Malatya Turgut Özal University, directed and produced the short film “Kül,” which continues to attract attention at national and international festivals.The film, which won first prize in the “Best Short Film Depicting Family” category at the Young Books IV Short Film Competition organized as part of the 2025 Year of the Family, has also achieved success on different platforms.Ash then achieved the success of being a finalist at the 2nd Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Graduation Film Festival Short Film Competition. It also attracted attention internationally, being nominated at the Do Pao Documentary Film Festival in Albergaria-a-Velha and securing a place as a finalist in the competition.
