Due to the 50th anniversary of Aşık Veysel's death, 2023 was included among the anniversaries of commemoration and celebration by UNESCO. Within the scope of the circular signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to celebrate 2023 as the “Year of Aşık Veysel”, Aşık Veysel Memorial Concert and Aşık Veysel-themed painting exhibition were held.
